I booked a car at Miami airport, went to collect, and was told that I should purchase liability insurance. Specifically stated that I do not require liability insurance, as I don't live in the US and the past 5 times I rented cars I didn't pay for it. I signed for receiving and left quicky as I was on the phone - my mistake was not checking my receipt there immediately. While at my hotel that evening, saw that I was charged Liability Insurance (LIS) and immediately called Dollar. The rep said to go back to the airport and report it. I called back Dollar again, and told them to stop the insurance, and I will pay for that day only and chalk it up to a learning experience, but rep said they can only open a case while the rental is in progress. Back home I followed up with the case, only for Dollar to say that I already signed, so there is no refund. I asked Dollar if the counter employees are induced to upsell or add additional insurance. They never responded, so I assume this is so, from the way insurance is pushed at the counter. Especially for an agent to add it to my bill when I specifically said "NO", I didn't require or need. Since I cant win this with Dollar, I would encourage people to be careful, look carefully over your bills before leaving. As there are some staff that will deliberately mislead, and intentionally add charges to your bill.

This was entirely painless operation both out and in. Attendant helpful with the operation of lights, seat etc. In attendant was very nice, pleasant to deal and she got me out in a hurry.

Great service and the vehicle was spotless/new. Always a pleasure renting from Dollar in Portland. When my travel plans called for a larger vehicle, Amber did not try to take advantage of my misfortune but, rather she took the time to ask if I was a member of COSTCO or AAA in an effort to keep the costs affordable. Great service which warrants a return customer every time! Thanks Amber!

Wonderful experience renting a car from Dollar on the Big Island of Hawaii at Kona. Terrific rental agent, kind, courteous, welcoming, helpful, informative who also was able to upgrade our car and it was just a wonderful experience!

Worst experience ever. Understaffed and rude. Staff lied and were not clear about extra charges constantly pushing for more. Some staff even accused me of lying to save money. Never experienced such bullying. Stay away from Philadelphia airport Dollar!

The worst car rental in my life !!!
I rent cars all over the world and this the most crooked Compagnie of car rental i ever had to deal with.
Do not rent from them !!! They forge the rental agreement after you sign it and add their own stipulations on it.
I will never use them again and hertz should be ashamed to be the parent company of such badly run business.

Totally avoid - they added insurance to the bill which I had been absolutely categorical we did not want and did not even want to hear about (having seen many reviews about hard sell) and are trying to say we agreed to it! On top of that they have just made up the toll charges, saying we had £10.99 of toll charges every day which is rubbish; it's not even credible that we had exactly the same toll charges every day -there were some days we didn't even use the car!, and they will never had been more than maybe $1-$2.

Had a very long and stressful travel day. Young man working counter definitely helped to turn our day around, was very friendly and welcoming, Rental pick up and drop off fast and easy. Car was exactly as was suppose to be and was clean and well kept. Dollar rent a car will definitely be our choice for car rentals on our future travels

Hello everyone I don't see why this company can get away with ripping people off. Everyone is struggling with money this company is getting rich on their customers. I think we should all stick together and put a end to this.

Belligerent counter staff trying to up sell to a larger vehicle. I had to argue that that my choice was all I needed. Finally got the car we requested, loaded our luggage only to find it was indicating an oil change was overdue. Back to the surly agent to get another! This one was filthy especially the inside windscreen which was opaque. Obviously, it had never been cleaned. Driving into the early evening sun was a nightmare. It took 30+ minutes to get out of the lot.
